Background
For several years, OlamAid has supported a growing network of refugee-led initiatives - projects that have demonstrated that displaced individuals are the most effective responders to the needs of their own communities. With the conclusion of the previous projects, EigenKompass was designed to preserve and build on this momentum.
The Project
'EigenKompass' enables refugee volunteers to independently plan, implement, and sustain community-based projects through structured access to resources, coordination mechanisms, and professional capacity building.
The project operates across three regional hubs in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Kehl am Rhein, each led by a refugee-managed association as the designated Regional Coordinating Partner. Online collaboration circles bring together association leaders and project leaders, offering structured training, peer exchange, and collective problem-solving.
