NAVIGATION Baden-Württemberg

Integration through trauma management and leadership

No items found.

The NAVIGATION Baden-Württemberg project supports Ukrainian-speaking psychosocial support and the integration of refugees in Freiburg and Kehl am Rhein. The intercultural psychosocial services are provided through individual counselling and, if necessary, open consultation hours in a trauma centre.

As part of the empowerment work, Ukrainian refugees in Kehl am Rhein are supported in their social and voluntary engagement. They have the opportunity to strengthen their self-efficacy by implementing their own projects, participating in joint social events or assisting in the organisation and delivery of aid supplies.

In addition, shelter staff are supported through needs-based counselling to improve their ability to assess the psychosocial status of refugees and enhance their intercultural understanding. Teams are supported in their professional development, while communication between refugees and teams is improved. In addition, volunteers working with refugees will receive training to strengthen their psychosocial skills and support their emotional resilience.

The project is supported by the Ministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit und Integration (Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, and Integration) through state funds approved by the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg, and by the Caritas Association Freiburg.
